Are the Silver Summit Schools online schools?
No, Silver Summit offers K–12 students a personalized and blended learning environment that combines in-building digital content with face-to-face instruction. All students at the Silver Summit Schools attend class in person.
Is Silver Summit Schools a Charter School/Private School?
No. Silver Summit Schools is a public school within the boundaries of and operated by the South Summit School District.
What words best describe the Silver Summit Schools?
RIGOR: Silver Summit Schools actively seek to challenge students to focus on their learning and engage with the subjects. We believe grades should be an accurate representation of student growth and mastery.
ATTENTION: Our small class sizes allow teachers to focus on student needs at the moment and provide individual and small group instruction tailored to individual student needs.
INDEPENDENCE: We encourage all students at Silver Summit Schools to work independently, and as students mature, we encourage and require greater independence. Our goal is to teach students that they are the ultimate owners of their learning and that learning is a lifelong process.
Will students from other school districts be accepted?
We will consider enrollment for students from outside the South Summit School District only if available space exceeds the needs of our boundary students.
Are AP and Honors courses offered?
Yes.
Is early graduation allowed?
Yes.
What about extracurricular activities?
Silver Summit Upper School has an active student government, which is in charge of planning activities that meet the social needs of the students. Silver Summit Upper School also hosts various clubs and a National Honor Society chapter, which provide students an opportunity to explore their interests, practice community service, or test their skills with their peers.
In the lower school, an active PTO provides students with opportunities to engage socially with their peers and for the families in our community to connect. Regarding athletes, UHSAA rules require that students interested in participating in athletics participate in their home district. Students attending Silver Summit Upper School, and residing within the South Summit district would participate at South Summit High School. Students attending Silver Summit Upper School and residing in Park City School District would participate at Park City High School.
How do we pay the fees for the classes and activities that require payment?

Can students take online and/or live interactive college classes for credit?
Yes. Students can earn college credits at a fraction of the cost via online and/or live interactive courses by participating in the online college credit programs provided at the South Summit School District office.
Will transportation be provided?
Students are responsible for their transportation to and from the Silver Summit Schools.
What type of counseling services does Silver Summit School offer?
Our school counselor, Caitlin Miller, is available to meet with students about college applications, career preparation, problem-solving skills, academic advising, and other school-related issues.
